First of all, some history. In New Zealand there is a reality TV show called Mucking In. A community nominates someone who really deserves a break, and writes a letter to the show telling them why. If they get picked, the show hosts pay for that person to go on a holiday while volunteers from the community help the show's hosts to renovate their garden, and the show pays for all the materials needed.

Near the end of last term, the whole school was filed out to the back quad and gathered round in a circle and told that Taniwha (that's not her real name, of course) had been chosen to be on the show.

This was great news. She works part time in the art department, as well as doing bits and pieces all over the school. She has been helping people out and doing volunteer work around the community since before I was born, and I remember her helping me on my first day of school, when I was lost and alone in a huge new school.

So the camera crews came out and filmed her driving up to the school and everyone cheering for her. She looked so happy.

Over the weekend, the Mucking In episode was filmed. Loads of people turned up to help out, and her garden was completely done over. Everyone was really proud of it.

Then, on Tuesday night, someone tore up her garden and stole all the statues and ornaments they'd put in.

Needless to say, everyone is extremely pissed off about it. Whoever did it had better hope they never get caught. All the local cops are mad at them too, she does alot of volunteer work with them.

On top of that, the other day someone I know was mugged while walking between the two highschools. She punched him and got away, but still... Students walk along that path every day. How did this happen? What if she hadn't got away? What if she'd been hurt? And what if I somehow manage to get my hands on the guy who tried to hurt my friend?

Remember how mad I was about the stolen Victoria's Crosses? I'm madder about these, because they involve people I know.

---Tournament:

I got into the Smash 'n Bash tournament. My first opponent is ~Alex055. Don't let me get sidetracked from my entry, ok?

I'm also hopefully going to have time to do a spectator entry that fits between my audition and my round one Entry, that will double as the extra ending to my duel with Select I promised ages and ages ago.
